Vivian Tserotas: Artist & Educator
Vivian Tserotas is an award-winning Canadian artist and arts educator. She has been creating for as long as she can remember—sewing, crocheting, knitting, and painting from the age of four. The path to becoming an artist and teacher was never a decision, but rather a calling—a natural extension of how she experiences the world: through her hands, her heart, and her imagination.
“It’s how I process, express, and make sense of the world around me—and within me. It is a way to express what words cannot”.
Her process is an intuitive dance between chaos and control, spontaneity and intention, exposure and resolution. Vivian’s work often begins with abstract mark-making and expressive movement, layering rich textures, rhythmic patterns, and dynamic colour to set the emotional tone.
Rooted in her love of textiles, each piece unfolds as a woven narrative as she negotiates the push and pull of relationships on the page, ultimately veiling the work in a tapestry of bold shapes and intricate motifs—creating a sense of order and crafting a perceived resolution.
“ Beneath every surface lies a story: of resilience, of truth, of beauty found in the imperfect”.
With over 25 years of experience, Vivian’s art practice and teaching include painting, textiles, felting, mixed media, collage, fused glass, printmaking, and ceramics.
In the classroom, Vivian brings the same intuitive spirit into her workshops and courses—creating safe, inspiring spaces where others are encouraged to trust their instincts, take creative risks, and make from a place of feeling rather than fear. Her teaching is not about product—it’s about process, discovery, and personal truth.
